This trail takes you to "Indian Peak," which is the shoulder of Indianhouse Ridge, and then to a saddle along Indianhouse Ridge. This trail is used to gain the Indianhouse Peak Trail, which is a much longer day hike that is much more dangerous.

The trailhead is along the Seward Highway at milepost 104.5 at a very small turnout that fits 6-8 well-parked cars. Being so close to the road, I highly recommend leashing all dogs until you get off the turnout and up the trail. As is typical of all of the other Turnagain trails, this trail takes you through the woods and up into the alpine. After about half a mile, the trail takes a hard right turn and becomes very steep. The trail never lets up and remains steep all the way until you reach the shoulder at 2,500 feet.

Once at the shoulder, there's still another 800 feet or so of gain, but the grade isn't quite as steep. Getting to the saddle gives you great views of the Falls Creek drainage and South Suicide Peak to the west and the Bird peaks to the east.

This trail has a difficult rating for its steep grade.
