Overview

Need to Know
$2500 per/person for Chileans, $5000 per/person for foreigners.
Description
The hike starts at the CONAF building where you must register and pay. Immediately, the trail starts ascending for the first 2km, but never so steep to cause difficulty.
At the 3km mark, the trail levels off and becomes much more flat, and the first landmark is reached, a small spring of mineral waters which rises out of the ground. At the 6.3 km mark comes the next landmark, a small lagoon that used to be habitat for wild ducks year-round but lately that activity has lessened.
Finally at the 8.4 km mark, the trail reaches the end at the viewpoint of San Francisco Glacier clinging to the side of the mountain hundreds of meters above.
