Description
The Baker Pass Trail starts from a junction with the
Baker Gulch Trail #29. The trail continues to the northwest, climbing steeply on some tight switchbacks as it heads up toward Parika Lake.
At about one mile, the Baker Pass Trail branches to the north on a vague singletrack with a barely noticeable sign. If you miss this junction, you'll find yourself on the
Parika Lake Trail #29.2. If you reach Parika Lake, you'll need to backtrack and look for the northern spur.
From the junction, you have one last steep uphill push to reach the high point of the trail. Once past this steep section, the rest of the trail is much more mellow, with a few gentle ups and downs as you hike in and out of treeline until coming to a junction with the
Baker Gulch Trail #29 and the
South Fork Trail #1138 at Baker Pass.
