Family Friendly Fun for all ages

The bottom of Yankee Doodle is in the Rendezvous construction area. The trail has been rerouted, but be aware of construction equipment.

Overview

One of the most popular trails in Winter Park, but for good reason. Come in summer for the impressive wildflower show, and again in the fall for golden aspens, not to mention the satisfying views over the valley in all seasons.

Description

Starting at the end of Idlewild Road in downtown Winter Park, the trail begins just on the right after the bottom of the old Idlewild Ski Area lift. The beginning is the steepest as you go up some very tight and rocky switchbacks. As you make your way up, the terrain will gradually change and the views will get better.

You can continue as far as you like up this trail before turning around. You can also make a loop with other nearby trails, such as a shorter loop with Serendipity and Meadow Trail, or a longer route with Arrow and South Fork Loop Trail.
