Dogs Off-leash
Description
This once sandy, cupped out trail has been rerouted to form a much more progressive trail and a much finer singletrack version of its former self. From the
Pungy Stick Trail #925, it heads west all the way to Haul Road where you can connect with
Lookout Trail #926. Connect it with other recently reworked trails in the area, like Pungy,
Lookout Trail #926,
Re-Root #927, and Sugar Magnolia #926 to form a short loop near Nederland that contains about everything a hiker could ask for. Or connect it with
Hobbit 1 #927,
Hobbit 2 #927, and
Hobbit 3 #927, or even
School Bus #929 to form a longer hike that goes further afield.
This once straight-as-an-arrow shot through the aspens was demolished during logging operations when it was used as a skid road to remove felled trees. The recent rerouting conducted by the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance and Contour Logic fixed this mess. This new trail represents just part of phase 1 of the Magnolia Non-motorized Trails Project that will see a lot of new trails, rerouting of old broken down trails, and reclamation of some trails as determined by the USFS Boulder Ranger District, so expect to see more good things happening in the area.
