Starting point is on the private property of an Eco-Hotel called the Lodge at Pico Bonito. They require a guide, and charge $30/person.
Need to Know
It's very humid so the track was wet and slippery at times. There are a couple of places where one has to scramble over rocks to cross a river. Make sure to take a camera and swimming gear for the falls.
Description
The starting point is the Lodge at Pico Bonito where a guide is assigned.
The trail starts by descending to the Río Corintio and scrambling over good sized rocks to cross the river. After the river crossing the guide leads the group through private farmland where there are groves of rambotan, mangosteen, coffee, banana, and cacao. From there you'll cross into the rainforest.
There are places where it is slippery from the humidity. Keep your eyes open for local birds and insects. The last part before the Incredible Falls requires scrambling across boulders in the river bed. The falls are incredible! Take your swimming gear.
Flora & Fauna
Tropical rain forest, butterflies, toucans, woodpeckers, small lizards.
