Description
This is a great hike for solitude as not many know or care about it due to its steepness and being a bit overgrown (well, maybe you'll see me on the trail). Bring the ankle gators.
The trail is a bit hard to follow at night, so you may want to loop back to Woodbriar Way from Wild Rose Park.
As of this writing, an interesting characteristic of the trail are branches that have been placed to prop up trees that the trail bends around. You'll also find some cement blocks with re-bar sticking out of them. Not sure what the history is on that. There's also a spot on the side of the trail near the end where a bunch of hay has been deposited, which suggests it is also a horse route.
Sometimes it's hard to differentiate this trail from the game-trails that spur off from it. Remember all the forks and landmarks for the return or use the
Hiking Project mobile app to help stay on track.
You have to do this one in the morning light to see why it's a gem.
