Description

This road starts on the outskirts of Santa Cristina and climbs steadily towards the Rifugio Pieralongia (mountain hut) where it intersects the Pieralongia singletrack. The first quarter of the trail is paved as it passes beneath the Col Rasier lift.

After it leaves the lift line it turns to gravel, but it continues its steady march up the mountain. It passes into a forest and past a couple of mountain ponds.

About three quarters of the way up, after a rare flat section you'll pass the upper station for the Col Rasier lift. (The Col Rasier doesn't allow bikes).

After that, the climb steepens as you pass above the tree line, but the views of the surrounding mountains (the Geisler and Stevia groups directly in front of you) become ever more impressive.
