Overview
Piecky is a beautiful and valuable tour through one of the largest gorges of Slovak Paradise with countless wooden benches, chains, and ladders on the way, along with a lot of water in the form of various streams, waterfalls, and small ponds. And of course, the pristine nature of Slovak Paradise—one of the most beautiful national parks in Slovakia!
Need to Know
The first waterfall is tall with a climbing steel ladder and is called the Big Terrace Waterfal. The upper cascades have wooden footsteps.
Description
The trail starts at Podlesok following the river Velka biela voda to small village called Pila. Pila has the most beautiful typical wooden houses surrounding with small restaurants serving traditional Slovak food.
From Pila, the trail entering narrow canyon with a creek running in it. It is a moderately long hike with waterfalls and wooden footsteps.
After finally reaching the very top of the trail in a shady forrest, hikers will enjoy an easy hike on forestry road from there, going down to Podlesok.
Flora & Fauna
Poniklec, the flower of Slovak Paradise National Park. Forests cover about 90% of the park, and there are over 900 species of plants.
Brown bear, golden eagle, and black stork live here, as do more common red deer, wild boars, and wolves.
