From Simeonovo Lakes, follow the trail the heads west from the shelter up the steep grade. Continue on this trail as it hugs the contours of the mountains. There is a river crossing at 2.1 km which is shortly followed by a great viewpoint to the north towards Sofia.

From here, the trail continues down in a calm manner passing the lift at 4.1 km and then shortly arriving at the E-4 Trail. Continue across this trail, following the signs for Boyana Lake.
