Description

This is a georgeous wooded trail in the Big Creek Park system. This trail, starting at Ravenna Road, passes by Tupelo Pond and then ventures through the woods down to Big Creek.

Although the trail is well maintained, this park is seldom used and can be very beautiful and peaceful if you enjoy the woods. The trail is very easy to follow, and there are light blue blazes on the trees to mark the path if needed.

The middle part of the trail is mostly flat but crosses two creeks; the second can have higher (ankle deep) water if it has recently rained. Then it comes back up out of the valley through some power lines before finishing at the Woodin Road entrance.

The one-way distance is 2.1 miles, and out-and-back is obviously 4.2 miles. There are facilities at both entrances as well. Be cautious of tics in the spring time.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of black squirrels.
