“Explore a short hike to a creek coming out of a cave.
”
Entering the creek bed is dangerous during rain as the water can rise very quickly.
Description
A signpost off the Inland Pack Track points to the Cave Creek Kotihotiho Track. The hike is very gentle at first but then descends quickly and steeply towards Cave Creek. The last 300 yards until you reach the creek are down wooden stairs. You'll find numerous large boulders in the creek bed, which is usually dry. To your right you can see the cave from which the stream emerges after heavy rain. Do not enter the creek bed if rain is threatening.
