Need to Know
You can find water in Vasquez Creek but there are some steep climbs to get out of the slot canyon. Do not attempt to descend the creek without a canyoneering guide. It's best to do this trail the first time from Stonyvale Picnic Site as route finding in the opposite direction has gotten a few people into trouble in the multiple forks of Vasquez slot canyon.
Adventure Pass required to park at the Stonyvale Picnic Site.
Description
Several stream crossings bring you to Silver Creek, where the switchbacks start. After 600 feet of steep climbing you end up at Grizzly Flat Road where you can continue to Mt. Lukens Truck Trail #3N27 or the
Gabrielino Trail (NRT) 11W14 via Dark Canyon.
