“This intermediate trail features awesome views of the Tennessee River Gorge below.
”
The Tennessee River Gorge trail wraps around the north side of the campground near the Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Facility. The trail features good rolling topography with a minimal number of roots, and except for the steep section near the parking area, it is pretty flat.
You'll catch great views of the Tennessee River Gorge below through breaks in the trees or there are a few short side trails after you pass the mile-mark that lead to the bluffs overlooking the river.
At the far end of the trail, you can continue onto the Laurel Point trail which will return you to the parking area at the start of this trail.
