Description
Beautiful, quiet, and isolated. This trail is highly recommend in and of itself or as a way to get a few additional miles before/after a summit of Bishop. Careful, this trail can be slippery when wet.
The loop can be accessed via four connector trails, but is best started from the Cattle Pond. The trail begins at a three-way intersection. Take a left and continue up a well-defined singletrack trail with plenty of wooden steps for a quarter mile. Turn right onto a gravel service road. Follow the road along the top of a ridge for a fast half a mile. The fireroad intersects with a singletrack trail that veers to the right and descends off the ridge. This turnoff is well signed. The next half mile is undulating and rolling singletrack that trends downhill. There are multiple cattle/social trails intersecting the main trail. The social trails run across topo lines while the main trail follows them. Generally, continue straight and follow signs for Felsman Loop. End where you began.
