Need to Know

This is a good fishing spot for those interested. Also, there's available camping right next to the parking lot.

Description

Parking is easy to come by and located right at the trailhead. This is a popular trail for any time of the year (it can get especially busy during peak season). The trail starts out with its steepest part in the first 0.5 miles, and after it is rather flat all the way to the lake.

Elect to travel 3/4 of the way up the lake on the west side to a small outcropping and it will provide you with unobstructed views of the surrounding vistas. As you look toward the south, you'll see two towering peaks: the one on the left is Mount Grant, and the one on the right is Great Northern (where Stanton Lake receives its water from the Stanton Glacier). Enjoy the view of these two features, but don't forget to turn around and look back north to see Mount Stimson!
