Need to Know

Watch out for widowmakers and storm-damaged trees.

Description

This trail follows the red diamonds. Cross the street from the parking area and go around the gate (open during winter). There are many downed trees in this area due to the windstorm on April 16, 2018. The trail skirts around a property, then turns right. The trail climbs steadily up to Bald Knob Cutoff (on the right).

The trail descends, slightly, down to a stream crossing on a bridge. The trail climbs again. Up a ways, on one of the turns, Brook Walk descends to the left. The trail reaches the Connector Trail (on the right), and stays left. Here, the trail traverses over a serious washout area. The trail continues to its end at the east end of Shannon Pond.

Flora & Fauna

White birch, cattails, and killdeer can all be found here.
