Need to Know

This trail is easier to find during the winter; it's easy to get lost in the summer.

Description

This trail starts off the east side of Route 113, just past the sign (on the right) for Jackman Pond Wildlife Area. The trail enters the woods along a small raised ridge. This trail is difficult to follow in some areas; please follow the yellow and red blazes carefully.

The trail twists and turns around to the north end of the pond and continues to Bunker Hill Road. You can follow the road to the right (south), and re-enter the woods after about 5 telephone poles. From here, you can continue on the South Shore Trail to make a loop.

Flora & Fauna

White birch, white pine, eastern hemlock, wintergreen, beech, and red squirrel can be found here.
