Need to Know

This trail is part of the VAST snowmobile trail; it is only Rim Run from Route 9 to Grant Road. This trail may be overgrown in summer, and is best used as a winter route.

Description

Cross Route 9 from the parking area, and look for the trail at the edge of the woods. The trail curves to the left and reaches a junction with the Tower Trail. It crosses over the Tower Trail and runs through an open field before it begins descending. The trail reaches a steep switchback to the right and continues its descent. The trail passes by the Quonset Hut and runs nearly level the rest of the way. The trail eventually passes by the Bishop Trail (on the right).

Rim Run ends at Grant Road, and hikers can continue across the road on the VAST snowmobile trail.

Flora & Fauna

Eastern hemlock, white birch, and birch polypore all grow here.
