This is a very nice connector between Hay Creek Trail and Black Bear Trail that has that real “trail” feel.

Description

When traveled from Hay Creek Trail to Black Bear Trail, this is an entirely uphill hike. The trail leaves Hay Creek and heads up along a granite outcropping and then through several small meadows and tree-lined lanes. Turkeys are a frequent sight, along with the occasional deer.

About 2/3 of the way up, the trail passes alongside the remains of an old corral. Finally, after going fairly straight for the last mile, and approximately a quarter mile from the top, the trail trends from right to left as it meets with Black Bear Trail.
