Need to Know
This trail system is entirely on JBER military land and requires a $10 annual recreation pass permit, which can be purchased online at jber.isportsman.net/. You must also sign in and out as you enter and exit the area. There are times that training exercises are being held, closing the area off, and closures are also posted on the website.
Description
Knoya Peak rises up to about 4,600 ft. above sea level and is a very prominent peak in the Chugach front range skyline. From the end of the
Dome Trail, continue east-southeast along the ridgeline up to the top of Knoya, where the ridgeline forks. Heading north takes you to Kanchee Peak, and heading southeast takes you to Tikishla Peak.
This trail has an intermediate/difficult rating for its steep grade.
