Description

West Rock Ridge State Park is conveniently located just a few miles from downtown New Haven, and contains miles of trails and some great vista points. There is usually plenty of parking at Lake Wintergreen (all seasons).

The Regicides Trail (blue blazes) is one of the most challenging trails in West Rock Park as it goes right along the ridge line for most of its 6.5 miles. Bring extra insulation and a windbreaker in colder weather because the wind really blows once you get onto the ridge. Technically this is a point-to-point trail but there are plenty other trails to use to create a full loop, for example the Red Trail.
