Access to the La Sal Mountain Loop Road and Warner Lake Road is limited during the winter months.

Description

Miner's Basin Trail is a beautiful singletrack high altitude trail in the La Sal Mountains. This trail begins where Miner's Basin Road ends. You can access the Miner's Basin mining area near the middle of the trail. There was copper discovered at the location, and it was mined back in the late 1800s. After leaving Miner's Basin, the trail turns in a southwesterly direction passing by Gold Knob and tracking through pine forests and large groves of aspen. The trail ends on Warner Lake Road just a short distance from the scenic Warner Lake and the Hazzard County trailhead.

Flora & Fauna

You'll likely see deer, elk, and black bear in the area. Be aware of timber rattlesnakes and during the summer months cattle and bulls are common in the area.
