Features Views · Wildflowers

Family Friendly I have seen small children up there, but it would be hard for most.

While open all year, the road to the trailhead can be icy in winter.

Overview

This is a local favorite trail touting fantastic views of the area's volcanoes; on a clear day, expect to see St. Helens, Hood, Rainier, Adams, and Jefferson.

Near the top, expect it to be steep.

Need to Know

Come prepared with a rain jacket—this is the Pacific Northwest after all.

Description

Right from the parking lot, this trail poses an easy start. It winds uphill through forest, eventually breaking out of the trees and into great views, wildflowers in the springtime, and on a clear day, stupendous views of volcanoes and the mouth of the Columbia.

Flora & Fauna

Beautiful wildflowers grow here in the spring.

This hike deserves its reputation, both for its views and level of difficulty. Wear good shoes and be prepared to take steep sections slowly! 4.8mi — 2h 58m
