Description
To get to the Bluegill Trail, you'll need to follow the
Wetland Loop a short distance east from the Nature Center parking area. Just past the boardwalks, the Bluegill Trail will begin by sharing the same pathway as the
Wetland Loop. During periods of low use, this trail can appear to be grass, without a clearly defined route. The grass is kept mowed to help you avoid unwanted snake encounters.
At the southern tip of the pond, leave the
Wetland Loop to continue following the pond's edge. At the eastern end of the pond you can stop at some play structures. The northern edge is also mostly just grass without super clear routing, and the proximity to suburban homes ruins the trail a little. A boardwalk crosses a small creek to help you finish the loop with dry feet.
Keep your eyes open and you might see and hear both frogs and various birds.
