Gates open for trail use from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm daily. The Nature Center is open from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Sunday. Closed Sundays and holidays.
Description
The trail begins on either end of the Nature Center parking area. If taken counterclockwise, the trail begins behind the restrooms past some children's play things. From the beginning, the trail is joined by the
Spring Creek Trail for the first tenth of a mile. As it heads west, the trail links up with the auxiliary parking along the entrance road before heading south across a boardwalk and into an area very prone to flooding. Here it splits off from the
Spring Creek Trail.
The trail passes a couple other trails along the way, just be sure to stay on the main Wetland Loop. Be mindful of closed/unmaintained trails throughout the park (this one passes a closed trail about 0.3 miles in).
The trail continues southeast through wet areas before turning sharply north/northwest. This part of the trail is drier and eventually opens up at the small "Big Pond". Follow the water's edge to some more boardwalks over ponds (where you'll likely be able to see and hear frogs) and you'll be back at the Nature Center.
