Description
We got a recommendation from the Prom Country Visitor Center about this hike, and we were so glad we tried it! It's an amazingly beautiful, fairly easygoing day trip with stunning coastal views, beaches, and almost nobody else on the trail. We were there on a gorgeous summer afternoon, and only saw one other couple the entire time.
The trail starts out fairly steep, but that doesn't last too long. On the way up, you get beautiful views of the Darby River and swamplands. From there it's pretty smooth and gentle, with a little up and down, but you won't even notice it because you'll be in awe of the amazing coastal views and the bluest sparkling water you've ever seen for the entire rest of the way.
On the way back to the carpark, we took a short detour to Fairy Cove, which was a very beautiful little beach that can be seen from the trail above. We were told you can swim there, but there's of course no safety patrol or anything, so swim at your own risk!
Flora & Fauna
We saw some interesting looking spiders! I wouldn't get too close...
