Description
The trail goes through the mowed fields in the North Section of the park before entering the woods and intersecting with the
White Trail. The trail is supposed to start from the
White Trail near the parking lot but is unpassable. Hike down the road from the parking lot and take the dirt road into the field to start.
The trail is poorly blazed in part and is not blazed at all in the fields, so hike along the edge of the fields as follows: when you enter the field, hike counterclockwise keeping the field on your left. On the second side of the field, you'll pass two openings in the trees on your left—take the second one into the more uphill field.
Continue hiking counterclockwise in this field. On the second side of the field you'll come to another opening in the woods. Continue straight ahead into the third field. Hike two sides of this rectangular field. When you come to the corner to make the turn to the third side, there is an opening in the rock wall. If you look carefully you might see the orange blazes in the woods.
Go through the opening and into the woods following the blazes. It will parallel the fields. Near the end of the last field, the orange blazes go towards the field; continue straight (there were orange and white blazes on the tree here). Shortly, you'll come to a fork with trails heading left and straight ahead. This is the
White Trail and the end of the
Orange Trail.
