Description
McHugh Lake Trail starts along
Turnagain Arm Trail at the McHugh Creek access parking lot and runs through treeline up to a series of alpine lakes. The two named lakes are McHugh and Rabbit Lakes, and they are also accessible via the
Rabbit Lake Trail.
The trail steadily climbs from near sea level to 3,000' over 6.4 miles. This is a common trail used for backpacking that also provides access to routes that summit the Suicide Peaks.
Please be wary of bears in the area. Bears are frequently spotted and have been known to attack humans.
This trail has an easy/intermediate difficulty rating for its length and intermittent grades above 10%.
