Description
Starting at the Piney Campground Intersection of FS 230 and 234, look for the red blazes. Just after starting the trail, you'll go past the old cemetery. Begin a gradual ascent out of the bottomlands, crossing a few small ravines on your climb to the ridge. At about a half mile, the trail levels out and makes for easy hiking for the next 0.5 miles (except for the roots and mud). At about 1.3 miles in, you'll connect with the Volunteer Trail. In this area you can find Infantry Pass Spring off to the right of the trail. Continue on as you begin to climb again. The trail ends at the intersection with the historic Artillery Trail.
