Description

This trail takes you through and around several of the raised limestone circles at Ft. Ancient. This trail allows you to get up close and personal with these amazing and still unexplained circles left by generations past. Due to the efforts of an Eagle Scout project in 2003, you also learn about seasonal ponds, several tree species on the trail, and other natural features in the region. Leaving the parking lot, descend into the woods and cross a short bridge over a ravine. Turning slightly left. You'll see the first of the circles in a ring. Continue down the ravine, crossing a second bridge and passing a seasonal pond. From here you can clearly see the second of the circles. I will leave the rest for you to find! After you are done, exit behind the visitor center and return to your vehicle by the walkway in front.
