Description

Nuttall Trail winds through the bottomland hardwood forest of the Core Arboretum, populated by giant sycamore, sassafras, and maple. This trail remains fairly flat relative to other arboretum trails. Since it skirts the edge of the Monongahela River, Nuttall can become very muddy following rains, particularly in the section to the southwest of the Caperton Rail-Trail. Use this trail to connect with Granville Island Trail, Sheldon Trail, Rumsey Trail, and the rest of the Core Arboretum to create a variety of excellent loops in this urban forest retreat.
