Description
The Sabal Point Sanctuary Trail starts from the end of Wilderness Road in the Sabal Point housing development. There is a small parking area with room for several cars, with additional parking available on the nearby streets. The trail itself starts on the far side of a gate, and a signboard is located at the trailhead with a map of the area.
The trail is well-packed doubletrack with few obstacles. The land is flat, so elevation changes are minimal. The trail runs through the forested wetlands of the area and is a conservation area for birds and other wildlife. For the most part, the trail runs straight and there are no side-trails or turnings, so it is very easy to follow. There is a small pond nearly a mile from the trailhead with a bench for seating. After about 1.75 miles, the trail ends at another gate, although this one leads to private property and has "No Trespassing" signs posted.
