Description

The Switcher Loop is the easiest loop while the northern loop (Rail Spike Loop) has some more demanding descents and a bit more extended climbing, though it's still relatively easy. Trail passes through some stands of scrub oak and next to a few small ravines. Generally exposed to the sun without much shade.

The trail opened in late 2017 in collaboration with Trails 2000 and Purgatory Resort. This trail system is Durango's premier beginner friendly terrain for mountain bikers. Until it's seasoned, some conditions may be loose, but the best way to fix this is to get out and use it!
