Description

Spend Spade is one of the most fun trails in the FINS trail system due to its rolling nature as it descends to the southeastern section of FINS. A little treasure of this section of trail is the Enchanted Forest - a slice of trail lined with stuffed animals and critters on the surrounding cacti to add something to look at.

Descending from Proposal Pass, you're thrown into a whirlwind of ups and downs, as the terrain rolls quickly at first. The trail here is usually well maintained and easy to navigate. You then drop off into a steep wash followed by a quick right turn through cacti-lined turns.

The trail then moves into the Enchanted Forest with a quick switchback-like uphill. Take your time to chuckle at the variety of stuffed animals placed here, as it can be entertaining to see what's coming next. The rest of the trail continues its rolling path down to the desert lowlands. Some sand is present in these final sections.
