Description

This trail starts behind the visitor center. The first 1.3 miles are well traveled by those going to Sunset Point (a parallel paved ADA path goes to the same section).

After two suspension bridges, you'll find yourself at Sunset Overlook. After this point, the trail is much less traveled but thanks to recent work by the park it is very well maintained. There are no huge hills or rocks just beautiful views of the lakeshore.

There are some gravel areas as well as roots but nothing too horrible. The hills are just large enough to remind you that you are in the woods, while still giving you a fun downhill to enjoy. The trail ends with a 0.5 mile loop and a campground with one fire ring.

Pay attention the blazes around mile 1.75 on the Ray Branch Shoreline trail. There's a sharp left turn that's easy to miss if you're zoned out.
