Description

Starting from the end of Elder Hill Rd, park according to the signs and start the ~1.9 miles to the Long Trail on the opposite side of the parking lot. The trail winds its way over ledges of metamorphic rocks as it climbs towards the ridge. After a few switchbacks and tiny creek crossings, the trail climbs higher into thicker evergreen forests. The trail then steepens before joining the Long Trail just south of the Battell shelter and the summit of Mt. Abraham.

Flora & Fauna

Songbirds galore! And an occasional grouse.
