The road is usually closed to motorized traffic in mid-winter due to snow accumulation.

Description

The Pillar Mountain Road provides either a gradual gravel road climb to the top of Pillar Mountain. From the top, there are some singletrack options to make a nice loop.

Those opting for the road ascent will find limited parking near the green water tanks where the paved road ends. This is a great place to begin as many trails end near this location. The climb is about 1000' over 2.1 miles. Views from the top are stunning!
