This trail is open all year. On the rare occasions when it does snow, access to the Dagelma Trailhead may be difficult. There is poison oak along the trail at all times of the year, and ticks may be present during the warmer months. The road is paved to the trailhead, but there are no amenities and no potable water.

Description

This is a 0.8 mile trail connecting the Prospectors Loop Trail #974 and the Payette Trail #970. This is a short but steep trail—descending it is easy, but heading up it can be hard. Arranging your hike to descend this trail is recommended. From the Dagelma Trailhead take the Prospectors Loop Trail #974 for 0.6 miles to the upper end of the Sinns Bar Trail #972. From here, the trail does a short, moderate-to-steep descent through a large stand of ponderosa pine to its end on the Payette Trail #970.
