The trail begins off the Ridge Runner Trail and follows the perimeter of the small 27-acre lake. Follow the dirt path through thick forest with possible creek crossings when wet. On its southern end, it connects with the rest of the Ridge Runner Trail. A dam was constructed by the CCC in the 1930's to create this lake. For hikers looking for a shorter loop, the Noblett Short Loop Trail offers a way to connect to the Ridge Runner Trail and bypass the southern portion of the long loop.
This is a difficult trail. Someone said it was a good day hike. Maybe if you leave at dawn. We traveled south and at the first creek crossing there…
