Be respectful of private property and poison ivy in places along the canyon.
Description
The Box Canyon Springs Trail is mostly made up of an access road that takes pedestrians and bikers through cow pastures to eventually wrap around and down into the small gully below the springs. It's also a good option for seeing some of the sites without having to commit to the ladder climb at the top of the
Box Canyon Springs Spur.
The road section ends at the bottom of the gully and the trail continues on a short section of singletrack that travels along the water and past boulders to below the falls. You'll pass a good spot to swim in the middle of summer if you're comfortable with crisp cold water. The area makes a nice spot to relax or explore for an afternoon.
Flora & Fauna
Significant amount of poison oak and stinging nettle on the canyon portion of the trail - extremely difficult to avoid. Long pants and long sleeves are highly recommended. Additionally, be cautious of rattle snakes. We saw 2 on the same trip.
