Description

The Red Trail, which is part of the White River Valley Trail System, is a multi-use dirt singletrack with abundant tree roots and loose rocks. Some sections of the trail were built on roads that were used during the construction of Table Rock Dam in the late 1950's.

The trail starts from a parking area just east of State Hwy 165. From the parking area, head north on the trail as it weaves through the trees of Table Rock State Park. There are a couple indirect access points on the north side of the loop that offer the opportunity to duck off the trail system to admire the dam before one continues on their way. Eventually, the trail loops back south to end back at the parking lot in three short miles.

There is some climbing and descending on this trail that makes for an interesting hike.

While it may be a simple rock hop on normal days, after a rainstorm, the creek crossing can be tricky.

Wet but good hike through the woods. Nothing strenuous and nice cover from the trees. 3mi
