Description
The first section of this trail heads uphill; there are no technical sections, but for those who are not used to climbing it can be tiring. You'll reach a small creek where you can enjoy views of the Peaks of Lapinha. You may also enjoy an incredible sunset if you decide to camp here.
Arriving at the top of the mountain, you'll see the whole extension of the Peixe Tolo Canyon and a little further. From the highest point, the trail continues downhill. In some stretches, there is no marked trail, and you'll hike along open altitude fields. It is best to use a GPS or the
Hiking Project mobile app in order to follow the track for these sections.
The trail will pass the
Peixe Tolo Spur Trail and the Rabo de Cavalo Waterfall Viewpoint Trail, two short spur trails that lead to nice views.
After passing the Rabo de Cavalo Waterfall Viewpoint Trail, the trail heads through the forest above a very steep slope. After a few kilometers of hiking through the woods, you'll find you are descending steadily until the trail ends at a junction with the
Trilha Cachoeira Rabo de Cavalo.
