Description
The Little Creek Loop Trail starts off of the northeastern corner of the
Raven Rock Loop Trail, just south of the connector leading up to Raven Rock.
This trail is marked by blue trail markers and is lightly used, and certainly less trafficked, than
Raven Rock Loop Trail. It is used primarily to access the group and canoe campgrounds.
There are mountain laurel and exposed granite outcrops along the route. The trail takes you along Little Creek and across a few bridges. The beautiful pines and greenery offer a quiet and peaceful hike. The trail surface is relatively smooth and covered in pine needles and dry leaves. There are some rocks and roots on the path, but not enough to make it a difficult trail.
There are campsites and canoe access points near the eastern end of the Little Creek Loop Trail, near the junction with
Group Camp Trail. There are six canoe campsites along the Cape Fear River; the amenities vary from site to site.
This trail is a great way to get away from the crowds and add some miles to your hike.
