The park is closed on various dates for hunting. Check the park website.

Trails are not blazed. There are indicators at each intersection as to which way each trail heads off. Take a map or you can end up going in circles. There are some 'difficulty' blazes on the trail; this is a black diamond trail.

Description

The Grand Tour goes through the middle of the park, not near the historic district or the rivers. There are some ups and downs but overall it is not difficult. The trail goes through sections of immense poplar trees which are very impressive. In other areas, the trees and underbrush have been carpeted with invasive Porcelain Berry vines which is otherworldly, but a shame.

The trail starts at the Cuesta Ridge, but using the paved road from the parking lot is the easiest way to get to the trail. It meets at a 6-way intersection with Rocky Point Trail, the Command Loop and an unmarked gravel road. In the west end, the trail overlaps the Laurel Ridge Trail which can be used to make a larger loop.

You can also hike a figure eight using the short connector near the middle of the trail.
