Description

The Sturgis Fork Trailhead is at the end of Forest Road 1020-600, the last 0.5 miles of which can be quite difficult for passenger cars. Consider parking on Forest Road 1020 and hiking that last half mile.

The Sturgis Fork Trail #903 is a short (less than one mile), popular side trail for reaching the Boundary Trail #1207, which can then be used to access trails leading to Mount Elijah and, further along, the Oregon Caves National Monument.

From the trailhead, the trail climbs gently (with one slightly steeper section near the top) through an old-growth forest and past a few small meadows to its end at the junction with the Boundary Trail #1207.
