Description
This trail starts from Erbie Road and slowly progresses upward towards Newberry Point. You can park up the road at the Cecil Cove
Loop Trail. Follow Erbie Road and turn off onto an unmarked county road which leads across Cecil Creek. From here you'll progress upwards.
This old county road winds slowly upwards to the Reevis Cabin. It is a doubletrack dirt road with loose stones, which is now closed to traffic.
About halfway up, there will be a small pond on the north side of the road. At the end of the trail, you'll find the Reevis Homestead. There is a well-kept log cabin, which has a nice screened in porch, perfect for lunch.
You'll now be at the base of Newberry Point. It is possible to climb to the point from this area via public land, but this is beyond the scope of this trail. Note that it also requires climbing skills and a rope to attempt the climb to Newberry Point.
Flora & Fauna
Ticks, poison ivy, snakes.
