Overview
A simple hike with spectacular views.
Description
The parking pullout is large enough for a half dozen cars. Additional parking may be found on the other side of the road or at
Corona Arch Trail a short hike away.
Entry to the canyon is made via a culvert pipe underneath the railroad tracks. The first section of the trail is mainly following cairns on a slickrock section. After a mile or so, the trail begins to climb and you come to a fork where the optional loop portion of the trail begins. Most people follow a clockwise direction around the loop.
In the lead up to the arch (called both Jeep Arch and Gold Bar Arch, there are a couple scrambling sections, but nothing too difficult. The best routes up are well marked with cairns.
The arch itself is a beautiful place to rest, and one of the only places where you'll enjoy any shade on the hike. Departing from the arch, there is a steep and somewhat-tricky descent down and to the right (south) as you exit the arch.
