Description
The Sunbird Trail starts with a creek crossing at a intersection on the
Bloubos Trail on a westward heading. The beginning ascents are gentle until you reach the first intersection of the
Dassie Trail. From this point, the ascent become more demanding as the trail turns northwest with a generous elevation gain.
You'll reach the second lookout point in the reserve with a view of the surrounding suburbia, as well as a view over the mountainous landscape stretching to the southern end of the reserve before starting a mild descent southward. Toward the end of the trail, your heading will change eastward to the second
Dassie Trail intersection. Once you reach the intersection with the
Dassie Trail, you'll turn north once more toward the Silent Pool, with a final crossing to rejoin the
Bloubos Trail starting point.
