Description
B Loop can be accessed off of
A Loop Trail in the southwest corner of the park. The trail starts by traveling down a hill of varied terrain including rocks, sand, banked turns, and root. After reaching a low-point, the trail rises to climb a rooty section along the fenceline before descending quickly once again to a wide, railed bridge. The terrain beyond the bridge may become muddy during rainy seasons.
The trail then climbs some gentle switchbacks before plateauing in the open pines and crossing over the Old Access Road (turning right on the access road would lead to the main park road). Turn left on the access road for a few hundred feet until the singletrack trail sign on the right.
The trail then ascends briefly before some more roots and a twisty trough. After crossing a small bridge and pushing over a rolling, rooty climb, the trail intersects
C Loop Trail. Keep right to stay on B Loop Trail, or head left to start in on
C Loop Trail.
B Loop continues with a brief climb over some minor roots before crossing the access road again. A short, enjoyable descent crosses the stream on a railed bridge, then winds through a few more ups and downs with roots and rocks. After two additional bridged stream crossings, the trail begins the continuous climb back to
A Loop.
